The Bridges Prep Buccaneers struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Saturday (the Memorial Day Matadors were 27% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Bridges Prep was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Memorial Day. Bridges Prep lost against Memorial Day in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 37-35 score last time.
Despite the loss, Bridges Prep still got an impressive performance from Zariyah Henry, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 21 rebounds. Henry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alysia Neal, who scored 10 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Memorial Day to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaylnn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Brown is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. McKenzie King was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 12 rebounds and 4 steals.
Bridges Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Memorial Day, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
