After a string of four wins, Quinter's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cheylin Cougars by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Braelyn Blackwill paced Quinter's offense, picking up eight kills. Blackwill got some help from Kendyl Johnson and her 24 assists. Finally, Lexi May kept Quinter's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.
Quinter's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Cheylin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Quinter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Wheatland-Grinnell on the 13th. Hopefully Cheylin paid attention to the Bulldogs' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
