Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Stockbridge Tigers walked away with it. They strolled past the Cadets with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 45-31. Stockbridge is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
It was another big night for Jayden "duke" Scott, who rushed for 310 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Scott is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Cobey Thompkins, who rushed for 56 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Stockbridge's defensive line and their four sacks. In that department, Kam Reese was the leader with two sacks.
Benedictine's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bubba Frazier, who picked up 197 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Kromenhoek, who threw for 346 yards and two touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes.
Stockbridge has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-2 record. As for Benedictine, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-1.
Stockbridge will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Perry at 4:00 p.m. on December 12th. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games. Benedictine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
