Video: Corey Coleman - The Opening HighlightsArguably the most important tool that recruiters look for in a wide receiver is athleticism. Perhaps
Corey Coleman's record-breaking 40-yard dash time is evidence of his blistering speed.
While Coleman was a four-star recruit in football, he also starred in both basketball and track and field for
Pearce (Richardson, Texas).
In his senior season, Coleman led the Mustang basketball team in points scored, while he also finished eighth in the Texas UIL 3A state meet in the high jump with a leap of 1.93 meters. His most impressive accomplishment was when he ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at the SPARQ combine in Oregon, breaking the all-time fastest sprint record.
As for the pigskin, Coleman was second in 4A Region II District 10 with 1,030 receiving yards and 26 total touchdowns. In his final two seasons with Pearce, Coleman helped the Mustangs set single-season school records in both receptions (272) and receiving yards (3,586).
See high school footage of 25 of the best players in this year's draftPrior to his commitment to Baylor University, Coleman was honored as one of MaxPreps' Top 25 receivers. After three seasons with the Bears, he is also the all-time leader in career receiving touchdowns in Baylor football history with 33.
The latest CBS Sports mock draft boards have Coleman either going to the Texans with the No. 20 pick (two of five experts), while the other three experts don't have him going in the first round at all.
