Michigan Lutheran Seminary let Caleb Martin and Noah Reif run wild. Martin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Reif went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Simeon Kober, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Michigan Lutheran Seminary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Carrollton didn't have quite enough to beat Nouvel Catholic Central on Monday and fell 6-5. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Eli Simons was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Ethan Hebl also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Carrollton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Michigan Lutheran Seminary hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Carrollton, though, as they've only averaged .222. Will they be able to contain Michigan Lutheran Seminary's hitters?
