Glenwood Springs has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Forge Christian Fury at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Glenwood Springs' 17-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewis-Palmer. While losing is never fun, Glenwood Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Lewis-Palmer is ranked 14th).
Sim Wenger put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points along with 8 rebounds. Wenger is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Alan Hernandez, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Forge Christian beat Denver Christian 55-43 on Friday.
Forge Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Hovis, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakan Sederwall, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Golden's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Glenwood Springs' loss dropped theirs to 1-2.
Glenwood Springs suffered a grim 65-40 defeat to Forge Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Glenwood Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
