Softball Recap: Mchenry Has No Trouble Against Crystal Lake South

McHenry's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Crystal Lake South Gators with a sharp 20-3 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Caitlin Carlisle looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lyla Oeffling was a standout: she fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Rylinn Gottstein was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and six RBI.

McHenry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crystal Lake South only managed four hits.

McHenry's record now sits at 6-8. As for Crystal Lake South, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. McHenry is set to take on their familiar foe Crystal Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South will square off against rival Cary-Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
