Homestead is 2-7 against Palmetto since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Homestead Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Palmetto Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, the stars were shining brightly for Homestead in a 84-68 win over Dr. Krop. The win made it back-to-back wins for Homestead.
Homestead's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Reed , who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Isaiah Bragg was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Palmetto beat Miami 65-59 on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Palmetto's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Miami is ranked 128th).
Homestead has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Palmetto, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Things could have been worse for Homestead, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-52 loss to Palmetto in their previous matchup back in January of 2019. Can Homestead avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
