CARSYN LEON spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Oak Hills got a massive performance out of JADE WHITMAN, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-5. That's the most doubles WHITMAN has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was KAYLA CAZARES, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oak Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sultana). They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over Burroughs on Thursday. The Sultans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Maricruz Venegas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Venegas was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jordan Mullinax was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Jadielyn Rodriguez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Oak Hills' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Sultana, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
Oak Hills skirted past Sultana 6-5 in their previous matchup on April 3rd. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sultans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
