Stillwater extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping them up to 7-1. They walked away with a 33-20 victory over the Putnam City Pirates. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.
Stillwater's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Thomas, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Thomas has posted since back in October of 2024. Kyle Stokes was another key back, rushing for 41 yards and two scores.
Stillwater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Bryson Brown, Thomas, and Caden Johnson picked up one apiece. Isaac Sensintaffar was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
As for Putnam City, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-2 record. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Although Putnam City took the loss, they still got scores from Deshawn Buford, Shaun Brown, and Savion James.
