Softball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Alexandria's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Alexandria's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against the Holy Savior Menard Eagles, falling 11-5. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Alexandria saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Claire Brinkman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another was Addison Couvillon, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Alexandria's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Holy Savior Menard, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coincidentally, Alexandria and Holy Savior Menard will both be playing Dutchtown the next time they take the field. Holy Savior Menard will head out to face Dutchtown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Alexandria will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
