The Blythewood Bengals waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 68-63 W over Spring Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Will Olden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Stephens, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Spring Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joshua Nelson. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. Jordan Burgess was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and three steals.
Blythewood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Spring Valley, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blythewood will take on the Yellow Jackets at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Mill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully the Bengals like a good challenge. As for Spring Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bearcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
