The Zephyrhills Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Lake Minneola Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zephyrhills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 552 points over their last nine games.
Zephyrhills posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They breezed by Pasco on the road to the tune of 61-21. Given Zephyrhills' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Pasco is ranked 640th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Lake Gibson scored an imposing 74 points on Friday, Lake Minneola still came out on top. Lake Minneola managed a 78-74 victory over Lake Gibson.
Lake Minneola can attribute much of their success to Brandon Colbert, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five assists, and Landon Blackwell, who scored 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Blackwell has scored all season. Alvin Colbert was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
The win got Zephyrhills back to even at 9-9. As for Lake Minneola, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Zephyrhills, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-43 loss to Lake Minneola when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Zephyrhills, Dylan Diaz (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
