The Farmington Scorpions stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 74-53 margin over Eldorado. Farmington's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kapiolani Anitielu was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven assists and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kjani Anitielu, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Eldorado still got an impressive performance from Bella Hines, who almost dropped a double-double on 38 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 71.7% of Eldorado's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Chioma Holyfield was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 16 rebounds and two steals.
Farmington pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Eldorado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmington will take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Cueva is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Eldorado, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully West Mesa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
