IV Section I recap Oct. 30, 2012
Blue Ridge extended the longest winning streak in IV Section I this week by beating Winslow, 43-0. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Yellow Jackets.
Show Low took down Alchesay 59-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Colten Farr threw for 17 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 28 yards in the win.
Redmond Delmar threw for 222 yards and five touchdowns. He went 12-23 with zero interceptions.
Chase Walden provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Snowflake topped Safford. He completed 19 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 28 yards. Walden's favorite target this week was Nick Hall, who caught three passes for 80 yards.
Clay Gishey was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 132 yards as Ganado topped the Bulldogs. Teammate Micheas Pineda added to the ground attack by rushing for 81 yards.
Monument Valley's Delmar and Tasi Malala have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Delmar has thrown for 2146 yards this season, while Malala, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 38 catches for 740 yards. Blue Ridge's Nolan Cook leads the league in rushing yards with 1309.
The Mustangs led IV Section I in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Window Rock. Delmar ran for 14 yards in the win.
