Marie Philip can attribute much of their success to Jeremy Novas, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Xavier DeLeon, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least a third of Marie Philip's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Riebe, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Covenant Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Marie Philip, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.
Everything went Covenant Christian Academy's way against the Galloping Ghosts in their previous meeting on Monday as the Cougars made off with a 67-46 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was DeLeon, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds.
