The Arcola Purple Riders can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They breezed by Villa Grove at home to the tune of 60-17. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-10.
Kacie Sisk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ema Simpson, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Arcola is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Villa Grove, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcola will take on Argenta-Oreana at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Argenta-Oreana will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 586th, while Arcola is ranked 187th). As for Villa Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Saturday.
