The Paradise Bobcats will face off against the Durham Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paradise is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Paradise took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pierce, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats skirted past the Bears 8-7.
The team relied heavily on Josh Einhaus, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Jayden Bunch was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Durham hadn't done well against Colusa recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Trojans blew past the RedHawks 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Christian Koehler looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Durham is 4-1 when Koehler allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Jack Drake was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Durham's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brady Doyle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Durham and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Paradise, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Paradise suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Durham in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
