It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but El Cajon Valley had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kearny 49-6 at home.
El Cajon Valley can attribute much of their success to Darick Dubose, who threw for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and Massih Ehsan, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sweetwater made easy work of Southwest EC on Friday and carried off a 44-20 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sweetwater.
Carlos David Delgado had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Xzavier Crews was another major influence, as he rushed for 64 yards and ran in a TD.
El Cajon Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Sweetwater, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

El Cajon Valley lost to Sweetwater on the road by a decisive 22-6 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2021.
