Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Auburn should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will take on Galax at 7:00 PM. The teams both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Auburn put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They were fully in charge, breezing past Bland-Rocky Gap 47-8. Senior Carter Brockman, who rushed for 90 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Auburn's success. In fact, with nine tackles Brockman was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Galax had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 21-14 victory over Wythe. The success made it back-to-back wins for Galax.
Auburn took a serious blow against Galax the last time the two teams met, falling 0-35. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
