The Heights Falcons will face off against the Dodge City Demons at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Heights has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Heights will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Bishop Carroll on Tuesday. The Falcons skirted past the Golden Eagles 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since March 28th.

Carter Smith and Kasch Oakley did most of the damage at the plate: Smith got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Oakley went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Smith is becoming a predictor of Heights' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-8-1 when he doesn't). Dakota Rittel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Heights lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Dodge City came up short against Hays on Tuesday and fell 11-6. The loss continues a trend for the Demons in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost nine in a row.
Nomar DonJuan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season.
Heights' win bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Dodge City, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Dodge City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Heights hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Dodge City, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Heights' hitters?
Heights was able to grind out a solid victory over Dodge City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Demons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
