Weslaco East found their leader in underclassman Malachi Rodriguez, who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Sharyland still got an impressive performance from Calvin Harris, who rushed for 75 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 226 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Abram Carrasco was another key player, rushing for 86 yards on only ten carries.
Weslaco East will venture away from home to challenge Mission at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sharyland, they will square off against Hanna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sharyland is looking for their season?s first win.
