Volleyball Recap: Santiago's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Santiago unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hillcrest Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Sharks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Santiago's offense was headlined by Reyce Ongalibang and Pierce Willardson, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Carson Chambers and his 32 assists. Willardson was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Hillcrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Santiago has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Ontario Christian on the 22nd. As for Hillcrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Poly on the 22nd.
