Even though the Valley Buffalos scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Wayne Badgers still came out on top. Wayne walked away with a 63-56 win over Valley. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wayne.
Wayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryker Peterson out in front who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peterson has scored all season. Jake Batty was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Wayne's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8. As for Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Wayne will head out on the road to face off against Bryce Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Bryce Valley is ranked 122nd, while Wayne is ranked 108th). As for Valley, they will be playing at home against Piute at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
