Basketball Recap: Clearfield Piles Up the Points Against Box Elder

A well-balanced attack led Clearfield over Box Elder in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Clearfield Falcons blew the Box Elder Bees out of the water with a 55-22 final score. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Xiyah Yarbrough was the offensive standout of the contest as she went 7-for-14 to rack up 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. Isabelle Wyaskett was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Clearfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Box Elder only racked up five assists.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paola Almeida, who had two points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Clearfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Box Elder, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season.

Clearfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-35 win against Viewmont on the 14th. As for Box Elder, they have also already played their next match, a 57-33 loss against Roy on the 14th.
