Baseball Game Preview: Doane Academy vs. Riverside Rams

Doane Academy will face off against the Riverside Rams at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Doane Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Doane Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Maple Shade, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. Doane Academy put the hurt on Maple Shade with a sharp 12-6 victory on Friday. Considering Doane Academy has won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Chris Powell and Hunter Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Powell got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Johnson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Will Tschumy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Doane Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .600 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Palmyra on Monday.

Doane Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Riverside, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7.
