The Clarkston Angoras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 60-42 bruising from Hapeville Charter. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Clarkston of the 68-45 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Several Angoras players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arriana Blackwell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jessica Mays, who scored 19 points along with six steals.
Hapeville Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janiah Murray, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Murray is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Khalilah Tucker was another key contributor, scoring 24 points along with two steals.
Clarkston's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Hapeville Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
