The Midland Rebels will head out to square off against the Elton Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Midland has three straight victories, Elton has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Midland got the win against Vinton by a conclusive 14-4. Fans of the Rebels have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Midland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Elton lost 23-7 to Hathaway on Thursday.
Kynzleigh Myers put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Myers was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Kaya Francis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Addyson Linscomb, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Midland's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Elton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Midland got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Elton by a conclusive 20-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
