Basketball Game Preview: Page Patriots vs. Summit Spartans

Page is 9-1 against Summit since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Page Patriots will challenge the Summit Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Page will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Page is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Centennial: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Page blew Centennial out of the water with a 64-13 final score. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Page's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jordyn Porter, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and four steals, and Mazie Bushman, who made all 5 shots she took for 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Bushman a new career-high in blocks (two). Meredith Warner was another key player, putting up six points.

Page smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Summit played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Brentwood and fell 78-32. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Page's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.3 points. As for Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Everything went Page's way against Summit in their previous meeting on January 10th, as Page made off with a 70-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Page since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
