The Seeger Patriots won the last time they faced the Tri-County Cavaliers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Seeger walked away with a 46-37 win over Tri-County. Given Seeger's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Tri-County is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seeger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Pluimer, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. The match was Pluimer's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Christian Holland was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Tri-County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Ross, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Koby Bahler, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Tri-County were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Seeger and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Tri-County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seeger will be home for the holidays to greet Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 79 points per game, Faith Christian has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. Tri-County and North White will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully North White focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
