The Fort Stockton Panthers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Seminole 97-24. While losing is never fun, Fort Stockton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 863rd, while Seminole is ranked 45th).
Thiaraneth Wislar was Fort Stockton's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Amaya Urias held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Fort Stockton bumped their record down to 12-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Seminole, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, Fort Stockton and Seminole will both be playing Monahans the next time they take the court. Fort Stockton will host Monahans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Seminole will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
