Softball Recap: Roosevelt Has No Trouble Against Lincoln

Roosevelt won the last time they faced Lincoln and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Roughriders put the hurt on the Lynx with a sharp 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Roughriders, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Samantha Wright, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Adelyn Bagley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Roosevelt will venture away from home to challenge Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Roughriders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Garfield at 4:00 p.m. The Lynx's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 13.1 runs per game this season.
