The Washingtonville Wizards will challenge the Wallkill Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Washingtonville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Washingtonville barely beat Valley Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wizards blew past the Vikings 11-2 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wizards.

Ben O'Keefe and Bryce Tesseyman made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, O'Keefe didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Tesseyman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Washingtonville is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise. At the plate, O'Keefe went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run, while Tesseyman went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Washingtonville let Brennan Tesseyman and Andrew Dempsey run wild. Tesseyman got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Dempsey went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Dempsey has become a key player for Washingtonville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Pagano, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Washingtonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Wallkill had taken Marlboro Central down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Panthers fell 6-3 to the Dukes. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Cody Mallon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, Wallkill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Franklin, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Franklin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Ryan Mayer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Washingtonville pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wallkill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Washingtonville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wallkill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Washingtonville might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from Wallkill in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Wizards have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
