Zaiden Davis' Big Game Leads Centennial over Alamogordo
Zaiden Davis was instrumental in extending Centennial's winning streak to six on Thursday. Nobody could stop Davis as he rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Davis must have Alamogordo's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Davis saw the Tigers), he rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.

Nathanael Best Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Nathanael Best posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Alamogordo over Centennial on Thursday. Best's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Best and Alamogordo will head out to take on Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will pit Best up against the Cavemen/Cavegirls' star QB Kason Perez. So who wins this QB-duel? There's only one way to know for sure.

A Season-Best Effort from Lennis Washington Leads Organ Mountain over Carlsbad
On Friday, Organ Mountain got the W thanks in part to Lennis Washington playing the best football he has all season. Washington picked up 133 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Organ Mountain's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Washington and Organ Mountain will square off against Clovis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Dylan Hergenreder Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Thursday, Alamogordo had to settle for second even though Dylan Hergenreder put up the best numbers he has all season. Hergenreder rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Hergenreder and Alamogordo will challenge Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hergenreder will face off against Brock Wright, the Cavemen/Cavegirls' star rusher. Will the game be decided in the trenches? We'll have our answer very soon.

Xavier Perez Goes Supernova in Organ Mountain Victory
The second Organ Mountain player making an appearance here is Xavier Perez, and for good reason. He threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 38 yards.
On the season, Perez has thrown 5 touchdowns while averaging 87 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.57 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 70.57 rushing yards.
