It was a good run, but the Munroe Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Godby. Munroe was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Godby apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Munroe still got an impressive performance from Traniha Jackson, who scored 14 points along with six steals. The matchup was Jackson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Mccullar, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds and four blocks.
Godby found their leader in underclassman Kenijah Clayton, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Clayton is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mar?nazha Houston was another key contributor, scoring three points along with ten rebounds.
Munroe's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Godby, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Munroe will challenge Madison County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Munroe in Florida (Madison County is ranked 129th, while Munroe is ranked 317th). Godby will be home for the holidays to greet Rickards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rickards will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
