Montclair has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the West Essex Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montclair will be strutting in after a win while West Essex will be coming in after a loss.
Montclair only won by two when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 20-point they dealt Belleville on Tuesday. Montclair put the hurt on Belleville with a sharp 78-58 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, West Essex ended up a good deal behind Millburn on Tuesday and lost 65-49. West Essex has not had much luck with Millburn recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Montclair's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for West Essex, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Montclair took their win against West Essex when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 63-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montclair since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
