This season hasn't been kind to the Liberty Leopards, who are still winless after their sixth game. They fell just short of Crestview by a score of 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Evan Bates, who scored 37 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Bates set a new season high mark in blocks with three. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Bates, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.
Liberty bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Crestview, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Liberty will head out on the road to face off against Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Crestview will be home for the holidays to greet Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.6 points per game.
