Mississippi Valley Christian found their leader in sophomore Abi Wright, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Wright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Remi Sapp, who earned eight points.
Meanwhile, The Fulton waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against Crosspoint Christian by a score of 32-20.
The Fulton's win came from a few key players Mississippi Valley Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lily Leonard, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of The Fulton's points. Another player making a difference was Laya Racanelli, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 18 boards.
The Fulton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.
Mississippi Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points per game.
