It was a good run, but the Crespi Celts unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 75-67 to Canyon View. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (60), Crespi still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Crespi had strong showings from Joe Sterling, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists, and Peyton White, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Sterling's 18th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Drew Fisher, who scored 11 points.
Crespi's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Canyon View, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-2.
Crespi and St. Francis will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Francis is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Canyon View will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Williams Field at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Williams Field will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Canyon View is ranked ninth).
