The North Broward Prep Eagles will face off against the Calvary Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Broward Prep comes in on four and Calvary Christian on six.
North Broward Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat American Heritage by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3.
Jack Rostock tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.
On the hitting side, North Broward Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Calvary Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Jefferson on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 10-5.
Calvary Christian also got a great performance from Caden Schlotterbeck as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over 4.2 innings pitched. Schlotterbeck has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Campos, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Maddox Bozeman was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Calvary Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.
North Broward Prep's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Calvary Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 26-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Broward Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
North Broward Prep suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Calvary Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
