The Fort Chiswell Pioneers came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past Marion with a 54-50 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Chiswell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blair Jackson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Jackson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sadie Robinson, who scored 11 points.
Fort Chiswell's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Chiswell will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against George Wythe at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd. As for Marion, they will challenge Northwood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwood is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
