Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fulton couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Stockton Blackhawks by a score of  2-1 on Thursday. The Steamers' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Fulton sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 19-25,  25-18.
 Kerby Germann paced Fulton's offense, picking up 16 kills. Germann got some help from  Brianne Brennan and her 19 assists.  Jada Schaver controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Fulton's loss dropped their record down to 29-9. As for Stockton, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-5 record  this season.
