Meanwhile, Compass Academy was beaten by the Cranes 68-36 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Compass Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1522nd, while the Cranes are ranked 622nd).
Despite the loss, Compass Academy saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Stewart scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Sareyah Hinojoz, who scored five points.
Even though they lost, Compass Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. This was only their 13th loss (out of 15 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
