Rustburg is 2-8 against Jefferson Forest since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rustburg Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Rustburg has not done well against Brookville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rustburg had just enough and edged Brookville out 39-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rustburg.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rustburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madi Crews, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Haven Grinstead, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Jefferson Forest on the road against Heritage on Friday as the squad secured a 62-34 victory.
Their wins bumped Rustburg to 5-1 and Brookville to 4-1.
Rustburg was taken down by Jefferson Forest 52-24 in their previous meeting back in February. Can Rustburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
