Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Family Piles Up the Points Against Blue Ridge Christian

Cornerstone Family won the last time they faced Blue Ridge Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Saints really took it to the Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-21 victory. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Cornerstone Family's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabe Smith, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Hayden Allen was another key player, shooting 54% from the field en route to 16 points and five rebounds.

Cornerstone Family smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.2.

Cornerstone Family's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cornerstone Family will head out to take on Axtell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge Christian will take on Whitefield Academy in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
