After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jackson, the Tri-Cities Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Banneker with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. Given Tri-Cities' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Banneker is ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tri-Cities' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenai Mumphery, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Emari Benton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 17 rebounds and five blocks.
Tri-Cities has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Banneker, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.
Tri-Cities will take on Mays at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Tri-Cities focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Banneker, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-37 win vs. Chapel Hill on the 12th.
