Madison Central entered their tilt with Hancock on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Hawks 66-47. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Jaguars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Hawks are ranked 132nd).

Madison Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddox Singletary led the charge by going 6-for-8 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeff Flanagan, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Madison Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Madison Central's record is now 7-5. As for Hancock, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Madison Central will take on Forest Hill in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Hancock, they and Northwest Rankin will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Hawks will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.36 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
