The Cypress Creek Coyotes will challenge the Springstead Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Cypress Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Fivay get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Emily Bowling made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Briscoe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sara Stinard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Cypress Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Springstead came out on top against Wesley Chapel two weeks ago thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Eagles took their matchup against the Wildcats 6-3.
Like Cypress Creek, Springstead also got a great game from a two-way player: Alivia Miller. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). Miller was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylana Lyons, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Springstead's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Cypress Creek, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Cypress Creek has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Springstead struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cypress Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Springstead in their previous matchup on March 4th, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Coyotes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
