Pueblo South's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maurice Austin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Austin is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caeden Herrera, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pueblo West stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Pueblo Centennial 69-48. 69 seems to be a good number for Pueblo West as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Pueblo South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Pueblo West, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Pueblo South skirted past Pueblo West 67-64 when the teams last played back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Pueblo West's Andrew Trujillo, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Pueblo South still be able to contain Trujillo? There's only one way to find out.
