The Palmyra Panthers couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-26 walloping at the hands of Freeman on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Palmyra in their matchups with Freeman: they've now lost seven in a row.
Deacon Kosch was Palmyra's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Conner Petersen held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Petersen took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Freeman, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Palmyra won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Southern and Palmyra are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Freeman, they will head out on the road to face off against Sutton on Saturday.
